“Thank you for all of this helpful information. I also want to just mention that your voice is perfect for this type of training, you have a calming way about you. Keep helping to bring how to help people to the forefront as you are doing, what you are doing is wonderful and I believe this is needed more than ever.”
I just finished the QPR training with you this evening. I just wanted to thank you once again for the session, it was very informative and helpful. These conversations can be hard to have, and sometimes we don’t know what to say when or if we are to come across a situation where someone is having suicidal thoughts, so the way you were able to elaborate on it was great. I also think it’s amazing that you do this work to honor your son as well
Just wanted to say again how much I “enjoyed” yesterday’s training. I love the QPR model (so much more than MFHA) and cannot wait to start implementing. I wholly appreciated your flexibility and informal training style. I think this helped created an atmosphere of dedicated and engaged trainers.
Talk Saves Lives Training – Thank you so much for taking time to talk to staff. The feedback was so positive – you made a huge difference! Your comforting, personable presentation style was engaging and staff took your message to heart.
“Tom is the best and most experienced trainer? A treasure” QPR TOT 5/21/2021
“I feel better prepared talking to teens about suicide prevention and using the skills to talk to teens” safeTALK training 9/14/21
I would like to say thank you for providing this QPR program and I’m happy I had a chance to experience it . It was an eye opener to my life and I learned that I’m not alone even when I feel like it. Tom helped me find my two sage adult I can run to when I feel like I reach my edge breaking point. Thank you for helping me keep hope and to not give up because I have a young daughter that needs me here for her.
I think Tom did a great job. He spoke clear and asked occasionally for questions. Adding a personal experience made this training more eye opening, to its ok to speak up and ok talk to about it. Thank you Tom.
Thank you Tom for the QPR training and sharing your story, very informational. The name is Gabriella, and I attended the WebEx conference today. I wanted to attend Toms training because I love helping people, and from past experience, I had a friend who was suicidal where I was the only one who knew. So of course, I freaked out and tried talking to him as much as I could, and right away I let his parents know. My friend was very thankful and happy, he pulled me to the side one day at school and said, “You are everybody’s light Gabby, keep being the same person that you are.” Toms training really helped me and had a lot of beneficial information.
Tom is a remarkable speaker. What he has to share is important, especially now. I’ve sat through many suicide risk prevention in-services over my long career and I think Tom’s presentation was, by far, the best!!!
